Marlin Ray "Smiley" Wright, 67, of Cabot, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012. He was born April 7, 1945 in Bauxite, Arkansas. Ray was a U.S. Army Veteran and a retired Arkansas State Trooper. He was a member of the Arkansas Retired State Police Association and always quietly donated to several charities. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Marlin and Bertha Wright; two brothers, Joe Wayne and Ralph Wright and three sisters, Shirley Bradley, Billie June Horvath and Juanita Jacobs.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah Wright; two daughters, Paula Wright and Sheryl Jackson and husband Steven; two brothers, Kay and Alfred Wright, a sister-in-law, Jane Stewart and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., Friday, July 27, 2012 at Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home (501)843-5816 with services following at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Arkansas Children’s Hospital or your favorite charity.
