Adana Kristine Buttrum, 54, of Cabot Arkansas, entered into the arms of the Lord on February 23, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.  She was born July 21, 1970 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Mike & Becky Harris. Adana grew up in Little Rock with her big sister Alicia, and attended Sixth & Izard Church of Christ where she was very involved in the youth programs.

She graduated from Central Arkansas Christian in 1988. She earned her bachelor's degree in Art from Harding University in 1992. Adana swore she would never follow in her parents' and sister's footsteps and become a teacher, but in 2003 she achieved a master's degree in Elementary Education from Freed-Hardeman University.  She taught for 22 years and loved it.  Adana poured into countless students and mentored many teachers everywhere she taught.

In 1994, she married her husband, Anthony Buttrum, and they moved to Henderson, Tennessee. While in Henderson, Adana taught elementary in the Jackson Madison County School District. Anthony and Adana were active members at Henderson Church of Christ.  At church, they were involved in the mission's ministry making several trips to Guyana and Haiti.  They also developed life-long friendships with several families they met in their Sunday school class.  They welcomed their daughter, Aubrey, in 1998 and their son, Azekiel, in 2008. Eight years later, in 2016, they moved to Cabot, Arkansas, where Adana taught middle school at Cabot Middle School South.  After moving to Cabot, they devoted their time and faith to Cabot Church of Christ.  One of Adana's greatest joys was in 2024 when Aubrey married Shawn Boesiger.

Adana was known for her kindness, creativity, compassion, and a touch of feistiness.  Her compassionate spirit knew no bounds. She focused her innate feistiness into being a defender of the defenseless and advocating for children. She was a mother to anyone who needed one and there was never an animal she wasn't ready to adopt. She channeled her creativity and artistic gifts in many ways including painting murals, ceramics, ornaments, and hand making personalized gifts for everyone around her.

Adana is survived by her husband of thirty years, Anthony and her children, Aubrey (Shawn) Boesiger and Azekiel Buttrum; her parents, Mike & Becky; her sister, Alicia (John) Wood and their children, Addi (Max) Musser, Dillon and Ayden Wood; her in-laws, Roy & Jane Buttrum; her sister-in-law, Stephanie (Phillip) Howell and their daughters Kayla, Leah and Alyssa Howell; her sister-in-law, Amanda (Chris) Dunn, and their son Grayson Carver; her aunts and uncles, Barbara and Gary Adams and Larry and Carolyn Harris. There are also numerous cousins, extended family, and friends whom she loved.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Woodrow & Lucille Bettis and Lawrence & Dorothy Harris; her cousins, Seth Adams and Chris Harris; and her brother-in-law, Dudley McClurkin.

Services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Cabot Church of Christ.  Visitation will begin two hours before the service from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the church.

Adana led the Cabot Middle School South Robotics Team and in lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Cabot Middle School South Robotics in Adana's memory.
