Alice Elizabeth Gertsch Simpson, 79, of Sherwood, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2020.  She was born April 10, 1941 in North Little Rock to the late Albert and Catherine Urbani Gertsch.  Alice survived cancer four times and was a true fighter.  She encouraged those around her to never give up hope.  Alice loved gardening, fishing and being with her family.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis G. Simpson, Sr.; sister, Marie Powell and brother, Alford Joe Gertsch.

Survivors include her son, Louis (Sandra) Simpson, Jr. of Jacksonville; daughters, JoAnn McCormack of Little Rock and Tina Weatherly of Sherwood; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sisters, Lucille Stone and Brenda Timmons of Sherwood and B. Ann Busterard of Jacksonville; sister-in-law, Modean Gertsch of North Little Rock, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 12, 2020 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home with interment to follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery.  Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.  Arrangements by Moore's Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816.
