Alice "Lorene" Swayze passed away peacefully in her home on January 22, 2020 at the age of 84.  She was born October 12, 1935 in Hill Township, Arkansas to the late George and Nettie Mathis Barnhart.  In 1953 she moved to California, where she lived the majority of her life. While living in California, she raised five children with her devoted husband, John. Lorene was a proud member of the First Baptist Church of Pinole, where she could always be found teaching in the children's Sunday school room or working in the kitchen. She was a friend to all. Lorene returned to Percy, Arkansas in 2003 to retire with her husband. In December of 2016, she moved to Medford, Oregon to live with her loving son, Donald, and his family.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-five years, John (Bob) Swayze and siblings Elsie Chafton, Dorothy Cocker, Roy Barnhart, Vesta Elvada Sousa, Raymond Barnhart, Lester Barnhart and T J Barnhart.

Lorene is survived by sons, Donald and his wife, Devara, of Medford, Oregon, Bobby and his wife, Betty, of Manchester, Tennessee and Johnnie Jr. and his wife, Cindy, of Escondido, California; daughters, Joyce Krause of Shasta City, California and Debbie Organ and her husband, Jeff, of Glide, Oregon; brother, Sonny Fulmer and his wife, Linda; sisters, Alta Tramel and Merlene Fulmer; special sister, Linda Barnhart; thirteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m., Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home.  Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.  Lorene's final resting place will be at Sumner Cemetery in Cabot, Arkansas.  Arrangements by Moore's Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816.
