Arlene May
Bidgood
Aug 1, 1936 — Nov 2, 2026
Cabot
Arlene May Bidgood, 90, of Cabot, passed away Monday, November 2, 2026. She was born August 1, 1936, in Cass County, Michigan, to the late Walter Karl and Edna Gaver Pawlak. Arlene grew up on a farm in Indiana without electricity or plumbing—among the first of many remarkable experiences in her life. When she was 35, her husband, Roy Edward Bidgood, passed away, leaving her to raise their four children. Five years later, she returned to school and began working as an administrative assistant at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas. Since moving to Arkansas 16 years ago, Mrs. Bidgood had been an active member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church. Family was always the most important part of her life, and she played a significant role in the lives of the four generations that followed her.
Mrs. Bidgood is survived by her children, Marcie Leann Wilson (Clifford-deceased) of Austin, Annette Marie Ayotte (Stephen) of Red Oak, Texas, Lorna Diane Freeman and Danny Robin Freeman; sister, Linda Calaway of Indiana; 15 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were brothers, Walter and William Pawlak and sister, Barbara Lagaras.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. and the funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 6, 2026 at Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Parsley officiating. Burial will follow at Cypress Valley Cemetery near Vilonia under the direction of Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home.
