Dec 17, 1946 — Mar 27, 2023
Betty Marie Killian Baney, 76, of Cabot, Arkansas, USA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children and loved ones on March 27, 2023. She was born December 17, 1946 in Macon, Georgia to the late Florence Bernice Turnbo and Roy Ephraim Killian.
She married the absolute love of her life, Stan Baney, on August 22, 1968. Notwithstanding all of life's ups, downs, and challenges, they enjoyed a fairy tale love story and remained married for almost 54 years. Stan preceded her in death on July 27, 2022. Also preceding her in death were her beloved stepfather Bill Ingram, sister Donna Killian, and her nephew Neil Killian. Surviving are her 10 children, Michelle Baney Wallace (Louis), Cindi Baney, Rebecca "Ruby" Baney Morales (Sergio), John A. Baney, Jennifer Baney Bass, Sarah Baney Nicholson, Katherine Baney Morris, Laura Baney Adams (Chris), Matthew Baney (Deonna) and Franklin Baney, along with 20 grandchildren, Adri, Maria, Charles, Shelby, Lexy, Shelby Susanna, Yaritza, Kailyn, Codey, Leona, Jakob, Alhana, Clay, Aubree, Tate, Marilyn Rose, Scarlett, Gabe, Jade, and Payton; brother, Roger Killian, and sister, Sarah Reynolds; and four nephews, Jeffery Killian, David Baldridge, Kenny Reynolds, and Sam Reynolds. She also leaves behind her fearlessly devoted companion cat, Joe, Jr.
In addition to being a giving sister, aunt, and mother and a cherished grandmother, she touched countless lives as a nurse for over 40 years. She was a pioneer for natural childbirth and a strong advocate for breastfeeding. She loved quilting, sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She also had a palpable bright green thumb and enjoyed gardening at every opportunity. She passionately treasured spending quality time with her children and grandchildren. All that knew her recognized her family centered approach to all of life's priorities.
As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, her faith was a strengthening factor as she offered selfless service and acts of unwavering love that spanned on for decades. She was a member of the Jacksonville, Arkansas, congregation, who sought to support and stand by her throughout the years.
Her final earthly resting place will be Gravel Ridge Cemetery in Gravel Ridge, Arkansas. A visitation will be held at Moore's Funeral Home in Cabot, Arkansas, on Friday, March 31, 2023, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Her funeral will be held at the Jacksonville Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on Saturday, April 1, 2023, 2:00 p.m. A graveside service will follow at Gravel Ridge Cemetery at 3:30 p.m. Among her final wishes were that all individuals and families are warmly invited to attend her final services as we each celebrate over seven decades of life and legacy.
