Cabot, AR
Betty “Jeanette” Walker, 80, of Cabot, passed away Monday, October 12, 2026. She was born November 2, 1945 in Douglas, Georgia to the late Henry Carl and Exie Mae Wise Taylor. Jeanette was a resilient woman who faced life’s challenges with strength and determination. A breast cancer survivor, she also lived with COPD for many decades, meeting life’s ups and downs with perseverance.
Throughout her life, Jeanette wore many hats and enjoyed a diverse range of careers. She was a dress shop owner, purchasing agent, donut shop owner, truck driver, real estate agent, and property preservation professional. She eventually retired from the University of Central Arkansas (UCA) Admissions Department, where she built lasting friendships and left a special impression on those she worked with.
Jeanette had a deep love for animals, especially those who needed a little extra patience and understanding. In her later years, she opened her heart and home to several pets with unique personalities, giving them the love and care they deserved.
Those who knew and loved Jeanette will remember her not only for her strength and resilience, but also for her infectious laugh and the memories that brought joy to those around her. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit will live on in the hearts of those whose lives she touched.
In addition to her parents, Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Walker; sister, Carol Porter and brother, Bennie Taylor.
Jeanette is survived by her daughter, Pamela Eddy (Joey); grandchildren, Jordan and Shelby Eddy and great-grandchild, Kannon Eddy, as well as her brother, David Foster.
