Sharon Martin, 77, of Cabot, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2026, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease and dementia. Sharon was born March 5, 1949 in Roe to the late Robert Wesley and Gracie Alice Lindsey Gray. She was a member of Calvary Trails Country and Western Church in Woodlawn and graduated from Clarendon High School in 1967 before earning her registered nurse license. Sharon devoted 40 years to nursing, spending much of her career in hospice care with Arkansas Hospice. She began as a candy striper at Stuttgart Memorial Hospital and later worked as a commodity futures trader at Riceland Foods, where she met her husband, before attending nursing school in Texarkana, Texas. Sharon found great reward in helping patients and their families at the end of life. She also enjoyed ceramics, calligraphy, cake baking and decorating, and tole painting, for which she won numerous ribbons. In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her brother, Vernon Gray.

Sharon is survived by her husband of 44 years, Walter Paul Martin; sisters, Ruth Ann Barnett of Jonesboro and Maggie Haase of Hot Springs and nieces and nephews, Glenn French (Donna), Michael French (Angie), Deanne Edwards, Randy Gray, Hunter Martin, Melissa Carpenter and Ashley Mack.

Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 29, 2026 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home. There will be a graveside service at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 29, 2026 at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery at Birdeye under the direction of Moore's Cabot Funeral Home.
