Bill Guffey, 96, of Cabot, passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021. He was born March 5, 1925 in the Old Lexington Community near Clinton to the late George and Maude Guffey. Mr. Guffey proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. After the war, he worked at the Arkansas Ordnance Plant in Jacksonville and later owned and operated the Otasco store in Lonoke. Mr. Guffey enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Berta Sue Guffey in June 2021; one brother and three sisters.
Mr. Guffey is survived by his grandson, Lee Shook (Becky); great grandson, Alex Shook; brothers and sisters-in-law, Buck and Freva Johnson and Pete and Velma Fortson and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family asks that a memorial gift be made in Bill's name to your charity of choice. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday October 12, 2021 in the chapel of Moore's Cabot Funeral Home with burial following at Chapel Hill Memorial Park in Jacksonville.
