Obituary

Billy Ray Huie, 87, of Austin, passed away Monday, May 19, 2025.  He was born November 30, 1937 in Fitzhugh to the late Tommy and Mabel Tiner Huie.  Mr. Huie proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was a quiet man who loved the Lord and his family.  Bill was a faithful member of Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church since 1981. His forty-year career was as a distributor for the Arkansas Gazette, now known as the Arkansas Democrat Gazette. His many hobbies included duck hunting, horseshoes, washers, watching football and pretty much any sports and being outdoors. He even went water skiing at the age of eighty. Bill was a man who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Emma Lee Cook, Gladys Pendergist, Ruby Henderson, Helen Wise and Thomas Huie.

Mr. Huie is survived by his wife of almost sixty years, Mary Liner Huie; son, Tim Huie (Shelli); grandchildren, Jacob Huie, Kayli White; great-grandchildren, Kyland White and Isaiah White; very special, life-long friend since they were three years-old, Felix Love and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.

Celebration of Life will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 30, 2025 at Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Cabot.  Arrangements by Moore's Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816.

As his best friend would say, "There's a right way and a wrong way, then there is Bill's way".  "Semper Fi".
