Cecil (Jr)
And Noma Waddle
d. Jul 22, 2021
Cecil Osco "JR" Waddle, Jr. and his wife, Noma Faye Smith Waddle, of Lonoke, passed away within one week of each other due to complications from COVID-19. Noma was born September 5, 1945 in Lonoke to the late Jack Oral and Mora Marie Young Smith and passed away Thursday, July 29, 2021. JR was born January 9, 1947 in Richmond, California to the late Cecil Osco Waddle, Sr. and Velma Virginia McDonald Waddle and passed away Thursday, July 22, 2021. In addition to their parents, Noma was preceded in death by her siblings, Jackie Smith, Margie Fields and Pat Baugh. JR was preceded in death by his sisters, Patricia Nell Harris and Doris Sue Whittaker.
JR and Noma were married August 20, 1976, and together they enjoyed gardening, family dinners and just spending time with each other. Noma was a hairdresser for almost 50 years and was known for her caring heart and praying for and with her clients. She was a beautiful and feisty lady. She was a wonderful mother, but her favorite thing was being a Nana to her grandchildren. Family events always took place at JR and Noma's house. Grandad and Nana gave their grandchildren so many wonderful memories – especially the spoiling at Christmastime. Thanksgiving at their house was spectacular. Noma knew how to throw together dinner and JR would help with smoking the turkey. The kids and grandkids loved the cheese spaghetti – that had to be at all our family dinners. JR was the ultimate craftsman. He could fix or build anything and was well known for his many talents. JR has left his mark of craftmanship throughout our community over the years. He loved hunting and gardening–as well as the fruit of his favorite pastimes…. Eating.
Survivors include their children, Glenn (Stacey) Moore and Larry (Cynthia) Moore, William Brooke (Veronica) Waddle; eight grandchildren, DeAnna (Tom) Chattle, Mikayla (Dan) Soard, Alex (Sarah) Moore, Ernie Moore, William Moore, Scarlett and Mallory Moore, and Sierra Waddle; her brother, Allen (Mary Kay) Smith; her fur baby, "Baby Girl"; his four sisters, Wanda Joy Wooley of Edmond, Oklahoma, Donna Lou Isaac, Eloise Morden and Stephanie Kelly Waddle, all three of Cabot; his brothers, Glenn Osco Waddle of Woodward, Oklahoma, Robert Wayne Waddle of Furlow, Arkansas and Joseph Sanner Waddle of Cabot as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
