Chad Willis
Besancon
Sep 24, 1974 — Dec 27, 2022
Chad Willis Besancon, 48, of Austin, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at home surrounded by loved ones. Born on September 24, 1974, Chad lived every day to its fullest and our world was a better place because he was in it.
Chad took pride in his career as a Field Superintendent at Staley Electric, and his work ethic was unmatched. He formed lasting relationships throughout his almost 30 years as an electrician and made an impact on everyone he met along the way.
Chad loved the outdoors. While always looking for the next big buck, his favorite part of hunting was being outside in nature and spending quality time with his family and friends. The stories from deer camp will be told for many years to come. As a true great outdoorsman, Chad also excelled at fishing and enjoyed the peace he experienced while on the water. There wasn't a local fish he hadn't caught, and not a fishing trick he didn't already know.
Above all, Chad lived for his family. His brothers were his lifelong best friends and he was a caring son to his parents. He was a devoted and loving husband and father. He always put his family's needs above his own. Chad was married to his wife, Misty, for over 11 years. His children were his pride and joy and he taught them all he knew about life, which was a lot, because he always seemed to have an answer for everything. Chad was always up for an adventure and loved to travel and make new memories. From whitewater rafting in Yellowstone, horseback riding in the Grand Tetons, ziplining and roller coasters (although he was terrified of heights), Chad lived for those moments and made memories his family will cherish forever.
Chad faced his biggest challenge when diagnosed with Glioblastoma, an aggressive Grade 4 brain cancer. But during his 19 month journey, Chad faced each day and overcame every obstacle with courage, strength, and grace. He gave us all an example of how to live in each moment given to us. He has won his courageous battle, and is now fully healed and Home with the Lord and loving on his son, Braylon.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Misty; children, Hunter, Ethan and Hayley; parents, Terry and Regina Besancon and Wayne Willis; brothers, Chris Besancon (Tracy) and Shane Besancon (Robin), as well as many extended family members and friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 2, 2023 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sylvania Cemetery in Ward. Visitation will be 3:00-5:00 p.m., Sunday, January 1, 2023 at the funeral home.
