Charles Finus Wingate, 78, of Cabot, went to be with the Lord Saturday, January 28, 2023. He was born July 24, 1944 in Cabot to the late James E. and Ethel (Carmical) Wingate. The last of five children, Charlie served in the United States Navy from 1963 to 1967. He spent some time working for the railroad, but spent most of his adult life in concrete construction. There are not too many places in central Arkansas that he did not pour concrete. He loved to fish and frog hunt and he never missed an opportunity to go, which drove all of his wives bonkers over the years. Charlie accepted Christ as a teenager. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Joyce Parrish Wingate and a brother, James Wylie Wingate.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons, John T. (Pamela) Wingate and Richard E. Wingate; step-children, Phyllis (Roger) Henry and Steve Watson; sisters, Patricia Ray, Barbara Dodson and Erma (Wes) Jarry-Vier; four grandchildren, Laura, Matthew, Joshua and Josie; three step-grandchildren, three step great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and a beloved dog, "Sugar".

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 3, 2023 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home with interment to follow at Sumner Cemetery, Visitation will from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 2, 2023 at the funeral home.  Arrangements by Moore's Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816.
