Briarwood Baptist Church
Starts at 10:00 am (Central time)
David Duane Watters, 65, of Ward, went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, September 12, 2026. He was born November 7, 1960 in Winfield, Kansas to Wrolen and Donna (née Thomas) Watters. David worked for Bill Thompson and Transloading Services as a disaster responder for the railroad. He was a wonderful son, brother and a good friend. David spent a lot of time outdoors enjoying the birds, flowers, sunshine, farming and all of the wonderful things created by the God he loved. He was a hard worker and an honest man. David was a member of Briarwood Baptist Church for many years where he taught Sunday School and supported the church in any way possible. He never met a stranger and was loved by so many. In the mid-1980’s, David was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis which eventually took a toll on his health and affected every day of his life. Through all of his struggles with MS, he never gave up and he always had a smile. His faithfulness to his family, his church and church family continued for years. If you asked him how he was doing, his response was always, “I’m better than I deserve”. David maintained the most positive attitude and had the most uplifting outlook on life. His testimony has affected so many lives and he will not be forgotten. David was preceded in death by his father, Wrolen Watters; his son, Daniel Brett Watters and his brother, Danny Watters.
Those left to cherish his memory and to miss him dearly are his mother, Donna Watters; daughter, Olevia Siarnicki; sister, Jan Johnson (Mickie); brother, Steve Watters; grandchildren, Hayden Brett Watters, Daniel Brett Watters and Rowan Siarnicki; great-granddaughters, Meredith Watters and Adalynn Watters, as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 21, 2026 at Briarwood Baptist Church with Pastor John Powell officiating. Arrangements by Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816.
