Delapha Gail Hames, 81, of Cabot, rose to rest in the arms of Our Father, Her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 24, 2022.  She was born October 10, 1940 in Cabot to the late Clayton and Jeffie Eddy Shurley.  Gail was a faithful, sweet and kind servant of the Lord and a member of First Baptist Church of Cabot and the Gideon Auxiliary.  She was full of kindness and a light to all those who knew her.  In addition to her parents, Gail was preceded in death by her brother, Doyce Shurley.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of sixty-one years, Phil Hames; children, Peggy Jenkins (Mark) and Philip Hames; two precious grandsons, Charles Chuck Dailey (Kayla) and Ryan Hames; three sweet great-granddaughters, Chloe Roby (Evan), Gracie and Kensley Dailey; two great-great grandchildren and numerous grandchildren by marriage, Tony Jenkins (Chelsea), Ernie Jenkins (Sara) and Susie Trobaugh.  Gail is also survived by her siblings, sister-in-law, Brenda Shurley; sisters, Lavon Conard and Faye Lee (George); three brothers, Clayton Shurley (JoRene), Jerry Shurley (Kathy) and Billy Shurley (Fran), as well as numerous extended family members and friends.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Mountain Springs Cemetery in Cabot.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Arrangements by Moore's Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816.
