Dennie "Dolores" French, 82, of Cabot, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2024. She was born September 25, 1941 in Sheridan, Arkansas to the late Dennis B. "Preacher" Gwin, Sr. and Ara Catherine Walker Gwin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jim French, whom she celebrated more than fifty-one years of marriage with and enjoyed a full life of activities they shared. Dolores was also preceded in death by her sister, Linda Faye Graves and brother, D. B. Gwin, Jr.
Mrs. French spent more than twenty-eight years as a Kindergarten teacher for Cabot Public Schools. She was a member of Cabot United Methodist Church and enjoyed the fellowship of the United Methodist Women's Circle. She was also an active member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International for women educators. Dolores loved to spend her summers gardening and sharing her bounty with others.
Left to cherish her memory and to miss her dearly are her daughters, Jacki Holden and Dennie Chandler; grandchildren, Jarrett Holden, Megan Holden, Katherine Graham (Weston), Luke Chandler, Noah Chandler and Samuel Chandler; two great-grandsons, Hudson Graham and Owen Graham and extended family and friends.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 5, 2024 at Lost Creek Cemetery in Sheridan. The French family suggests donations in memory of Dolores French be made to the charity of the donors choice. Arrangements by Moore's Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816 .
