Devona Terral Brannon, 87, of Cabot, passed away Monday, May 18, 2026. She was born October 27, 1938, in Jonesboro, Louisiana, to the late James R. and Veta Rogers Terral. A 1956 graduate of El Dorado High School, she earned her bachelor's degree from Southern State College in Magnolia in 1960 and later returned to complete her master's degree at the University of Central Arkansas in 1985. Mrs. Brannon devoted her career to education, teaching junior high students in Jacksonville for 14 years and in Cabot for 16 years. After retiring from teaching, she served her community as a librarian for another 10 years. She was a member of Cabot United Methodist Church and was named "Cabot Woman of the Year" in 1996. An artist, some of her work is displayed in a history museum in Houston, Texas. She was a voracious reader and enjoyed playing bridge.
Mrs. Brannon is survived by her husband of 63 years, Thomas Carroll Brannon; her sons, Thomas Brian Brannon and his wife, Leigh Ann, of Little Rock, and Matthew Carroll Brannon of Cabot; her brother, James R. Terral III and his wife, Brenda, of Little Rock; and her granddaughter, Sophia Leigh Brannon.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 22, 2026, in the chapel of Moore's Cabot Funeral Home, officiated by Reverend Stephen Dickenson. Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
