Dorothy McConnell Mitchell died November 22, 2021 at 88 years old.  She was born January 13, 1933 in Morrilton, Arkansas to LLoyd Clarence McConnell and Athalene Clerget McConnell.  Dorothy was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Billy Joe Mitchell, her brother LLoyd Clerget McConnell, her sister Diana Jean McConnell Jennen, her brother-in-law Jimmy Don Jennen, and her sister-in-law Lorene Allen McConnell.

Dorothy is survived by four children : Ronald (Geneva) Mitchell of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Martha (Mike) Shackelford of Cabot, Arkansas, Teri (Ron) Payne of Cabot, Arkansas, Douglas (Susan) Mitchell of Madison, Alabama, sister-in-law Jean Mitchell Carson, nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dorothy's career was as an Air Force wife raising a family and also her passion of volunteerism.  She enjoyed travel and was able to visit all fifty states as well as Australia, and Air Force tours of duty in Germany and Japan.

Dorothy will be cremated with her cremains buried in the McConnell family plot at Elmwood Cemetery, Morrilton, Arkansas. A graveside service will be held for family and friends Saturday, December 4 ^th , at 11:30 am.
