Edyce Lavonne Thompson, 84, a former resident of Dermott and Greers Ferry, passed away September 4, 2023 in Cabot, Arkansas.  Lavonne was born January 28, 1939 in Alpine, Texas to the late Thomas Leslie Hutson and Edyce Inez Temple Hutson. Over the years she enjoyed sewing, reading, and collecting dishes and glass chickens and roosters. She loved her family and enjoyed time spent with them. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her.  Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Bobby Thompson; a brother, Tommy Hutson and a sister, Celeste Rogers.

Lavonne is survived by her daughters, Meschelle Thompson of Magnolia and Tara Best (Michael) of Farmerville, Louisiana; sons, Tod Thompson of Las Vegas, Nevada and Tim Thompson (Vicki) of Cabot; two sisters, Terry Jones of Liberty, Mississippi and Joy Garza of St. Francisville, Louisiana; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., Thursday, September 7, 2023 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home. Graveside services will begin at 3:30 p.m., Thursday at Mount Caramel Cemetery in Cabot. Moore's Cabot Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements (501)843-5816.
