Elizabeth Irene
Tullos
Aug 15, 1933 — Jun 11, 2025
Elizabeth Irene Tullos, 91, of Cabot, went home to meet her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. Irene was born August 15, 1933 in Cabot to the late Alton and Bessie Gilliam. When she was 16 years old, she married the love of her life, the late Faber Harrell Tullos, and they began their lives together and soon started a family. Irene loved stylish clothing and everything pink. She loved anything to do with angels, and she loved her church, getting together with her friends, and being with her family. She also loved Razorback basketball and football, and didn't like to miss a single game that was televised.
Irene was ultimately known for her strong faith in Christ and her boldness in telling others about Jesus. She taught Sunday School at Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Cabot for over 40 years. She was also actively involved in other areas of the church, such as leading the Women on a Mission (WMU) team. Irene fulfilled any role in her church that was necessary and unique to her spiritual gifts. She spent her whole life investing in others and helping them discover the goodness of God in every area of their life. It didn't matter if you were a stranger or a friend ~ she wanted to be sure you knew about Jesus. Even when checking out at the grocery store or at the doctor's office, she would always ask the cashier or the doctor or the nurse, "Do you know Jesus as your Lord and personal Savior?" She served her Lord well, has earned many crowns, and will always be an example for everyone to follow. If there ever were a saint, we believe that she most certainly is one in our eyes.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Faber H. Tullos; her daughter, Karen Tullos; parents, Alton and Bessie Gilliam; sister, Ruby (JW) Elkins and brother, Junior Gilliam. She is survived by her daughters, Janet Tullos of Niceville, FL and Debra (David Brossett) Henry of Navarre, FL; her son, Brett (Amy) Tullos of Cabot; four grandchildren, Jordan Henry of Navarre, FL, Kelcie McGregor of Freeport, FL, Mallory Alveti of Cabot and Dodge Tullos of Bigelow, AR; three great grandchildren, Asher McGregor and Remington McGregor both of Freeport, FL and Cash Alveti of Cabot; two brothers, Robert (Anne) Gilliam of Cabot and Gene Gilliam of Jacksonville, AR, as well as many other beloved nieces and nephews and some of the most wonderful and faithful friends.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 16, 2025 at Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Cabot with Dr. David Mitchell and Gene Gilliam officiating. Interment will follow at Sumner Cemetery. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at 9:00 a.m. at the church. Arrangements by Moore's Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816.
