Elwanda Fay Barnett, age 89, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2026, at her home in Cabot, Arkansas. She was born December 31, 1936, in Griffithville, Arkansas to Rufus and Guyneth Hodges. She worked previously at Timex, Little Rock Air Force Base, Cabot Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and The Arkansas Leader newspaper. Elwanda loved God and her family. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Cabot for over 50 years, as well as a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years. She lived life enjoying her time with family and friends, playing games, bowling, and being out in nature. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Barnett; son, Mike Pierce; stepdaughter, Donna Silence; three sisters; three brothers; and one grandson, Trinity Barnett.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Barnett and her husband, Farolyn Barnett; sisters, Bobbi Cook and Lynda Wild; six grandchildren, Cristy Chastain, Dwayne Pierce, Joshua Barnett, Nick Pierce, Damara Moore, and Brittany Pierce; nineteen great grandchildren, and ten great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 9:00 a.m., Thursday, April 23, 2026 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home (501-843-5816) with graveside services beginning at 10:30 a.m. at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Cabot.
