Obituary

Franklin D Tucker, known to his friends and family as Frank, 85, of Sherwood, died Friday, May 6, 2022.  Frank was born October 3, 1936 during the Great Depression.  He grew up in Centerville, Tennessee, the son of the late Alton Dallas and Minnie Lee Johnson Tucker.  Frank and his brothers and sisters grew up on a farm by the Duck River in Hickman County.

Frank left Tennessee in the 1950's when he joined the United States Army.  Following a four-year military stint, he attended Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.  For twenty-two years in Michigan, Frank was vice president and general manager at Southern Oil Sales Company.  In Arkansas, he became a very successful oil salesman at Industrial Lubricants and Mid-South Sales.

In 1971, Frank married Micheline M. Bertholet at Rochester Church of Christ in Rochester, Michigan.  After he retired, Frank and Micheline loved traveling through the United States.  He also loved gardening and often planted gardens with an array of vegetables and fruits, including strawberries and watermelons.  He didn't ignore the flowers though.  Frank made sure to have flower beds that attracted butterflies and bees.  As a member of Sylvan Hills Church of Christ in Sherwood, Frank also maintained the church's flower beds and bushes. Frank enjoyed traveling and gardening, but he dearly loved his family.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Alton Dallas and Minnie Lee Johnson Tucker; three brothers, Charles Tucker, Alton Tucker and James Tucker; his daughter, Alana L. Colley Tucker and his son, John R. Tucker.

He is survived by his wife, Micheline M. Tucker; daughter, Colette M. Tucker Nelson and her husband, Bradley Nelson, of Sherwood; son, Randy A. Tucker and his wife, Arleen Tucker, of Waterford, Michigan; three brothers, Jimmy Tucker of Old Hickory, Tennessee, Ray Tucker of Hendersonville, Tennessee and Kenneth Tucker of Nashville, Tennessee; sister, Betty Crews of Waynesboro, Tennessee; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and numerous extended family members and friends.
