Gary Lynn
Cooper
Sep 17, 1968 — May 9, 2025
NOTE: Service time has been changed to 2:00 p.m., Tues., 5/20/2025 at the funeral home.
Gary Lynn Cooper, 56, of Cabot, passed away Friday, May 9, 2025. He was born September 17, 1968 in Batesville to Lindell Lee Cooper and the late Donna Lee Bethel Cooper. He was proudly raised in Jacksonville, Arkansas, where he developed a lifelong love for sports, community, and friendship. A proud Jacksonville Red Devil, he excelled as a three-sport athlete—playing baseball, basketball, and football throughout his school years. Whether he was throwing a fastball on the mound, driving the lane on the court, or making a play under the Friday night lights, he played with heart, grit, and determination. His time as a Red Devil helped shape the values of teamwork, resilience, and leadership that he carried with him throughout his life.
He spent many years working in the insurance industry, representing companies such as Allstate and Farmers. He had a deep love for the simple joys in life. He was an avid golfer—though he often joked that his clubs were to blame for a bad round. He cherished time spent with his children, whether it was fishing, four-wheeling through the woods, or just enjoying the outdoors together. He was a loyal fan of Drive Time Sports and never missed a chance to cheer on his beloved (and often unpredictable) 6-6 Razorbacks. His sense of humor, adventurous spirit, and unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed.
Gary had a gift for storytelling — always ready with a funny tale that could light up a room and leave everyone laughing. His passion for sports ran deep, but even deeper was his love for his children. Whether he was in the stands at a football game, courtside at a basketball or volleyball match, or behind the fence at a baseball field, his pride and support never wavered. His presence, enthusiasm, and love were felt in every cheer and every sideline conversation, a true reflection of his generous and devoted character.
His laughter was contagious — the kind that could fill a room and make everyone join in, whether they wanted to or not. He was known for his endless supply of dad jokes, always ready with a one-liner or playful tease that brought smiles to everyone around him. His humor, warmth, and easygoing nature made him someone people simply loved to be around.
Gary was a proud graduate of John 3:16 Ministries, a place that played a powerful role in personal growth. His time there strengthened his faith, renewed his spirit, and deepened his commitment to living a life of purpose, compassion, and service to others.
He is survived by his children, Landon and Lea Cooper; father, Lindell Cooper; his dog, Lola and numerous extended family members and friends.
