George Ruben Davis, 78, of Cabot, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2020. He was born June 27, 1942 in Tyler, Arkansas to Ruben and Lilly Mae Hare Davis. George was a veteran. He was also an entrepreneur, first owning his own Texaco gas station in Sherwood, then George Davis Auto Repair. He retired from that and started Davis Custom Cabinets, making cabinets for many people in the area. He retired from that to the job he loved most, doing whatever Gail wanted him to do. He loved being a member of the Cabot Church of Christ. He made friends wherever he went. He especially loved his morning coffee with friends at Cheryl's diner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Margarite Rainwater, Jo Ann Webb, Harriett Abbott, Bill Dettweiler, Thomas Earl Adams, Louie Jean Adams, Christine Kerlen and Richard Merle Adams.

George is survived by his wife, Barbara Gail Hutchison Davis of Cabot; his children, Mandy (Rees) Lloyd and Kara (Robert) Abston of Searcy; siblings, Kathleen Higgs, Doll Robins, Carol Lane, Clarence Dettweiler; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren with 2 more greats on the way; many nieces and nephews and his friend, Ian Whittaker.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Cabot Church of Christ with interment at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.
