Harold "Buddy"
Clinton Mitchell
Oct 24, 1941 — Mar 29, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Harold "Buddy" Mitchell, who departed this life on March 29, 2026. He was born October 24, 1941 in Lexa, Arkansas.
Buddy was the cherished son of the late Ernest Mitchell and Ethel White Mitchell. Growing up in a large family, Buddy was predeceased by his parents, six sisters and one great grandson, Abram Derden. Despite these losses, Buddy's spirit remained resilient and full of warmth, a testament to his character and unyielding dedication to those he loved.
Buddy joined the National Guard after graduating from Barton High School in Barton, Arkansas.
Buddy is survived by his wife, Wilma "Janie" Cook Mitchell of sixty-six years, with whom he built a life filled with laughter, love and countless memories. Their love story was an inspiration to partnership and enduring affection. Together, they raised two daughters, Lynn (Scott) Collins of Malvern and Tammy (Nathan) Stratton of Bryant, who were the lights of his life. Buddy was also the proud grandfather to Bo (Ashlea), Bridgette (Courtney) and Wesley. His heart further expanded with the arrival of his three great-grandchildren, Emilea, Ollie and Finley, who brough him immense joy and pride.
Buddy's professional life was marked by dedication and skill as a welder. He contributed to the construction of ground storage tanks and was a respected member of the Boilermakers Union. His work ethic and commitment to excellence were admired by colleagues and friends alike.
A man of faith, Buddy was a devoted member of the Church at Willow Beach in North Little Rock/Scott, Arkansas.
Buddy's passion extended beyond his work and faith. An avid fisherman and deer hunter, he found peace and happiness in the great outdoors.
