Jackie "Jack" Lawrence Moran, 77, of Cabot, passed away Sunday, December 26, 2021. Jack was born to Arlis and Linnie (Haymes) Moran of the Sylvania community on May 27, 1944.

After graduating from Cabot High School, where he excelled in all sports, Jack was a member of the University of Arkansas Razorbacks football team from 1962-1967. He was a member of the 1964 National Championship team, where he wore #85 as defensive end. He graduated with a degree in Education.

Jack could be summed up as a one-of-a-kind and larger-than-life character. He was a lifelong Hogs fan and enjoyed hunting, was a voracious reader of Westerns, loved Quarter Horses and valued his numerous friendships.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arlis and Linnie Moran, and brother, Ronnie Moran.

Jack is survived by his daughters, Kelly (Michael) Terwege of Lucas, Texas and Leslie Stewart (Tadd) of Fort Smith, Arkansas; former wife of 31 years, Shelly Magie Moran; grandchildren, Scarlett Terwege, Jack Terwege, Isaac Stewart and Heidi Stewart; and sisters, Linda Jo Chenault of Benton and Rita (Gary) Reeves of Cabot.

A memorial gathering will be held 5:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home.
