Jacomina Hendrika Malcomb, 92, of Cabot, died Monday, October 7, 2024 surrounded by her family. Known as Mieke to her friends, Oma to her grandchildren, and Oma-ma to the great-grandchildren, she was born October 10, 1931 in the city of Utrecht in the Netherlands. She was a loving wife to her late husband of over 50 years, Sherman Malcomb. They met at Soesterberg Air Force Base in Holland. She then moved to the United States and was married in January of 1962. She officially became a United States citizen in 1966.

As an Air Force wife, she traveled the United States with their four daughters in tow. They finally settled in Cabot, Arkansas in the late 1970's to call it home. She loved knitting, crocheting, traveling, the occasional game of bingo, but most of all she loved her family…especially all the grandchildren. She was of the Baptist faith having been a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. She was also a cheerful and faithful giver. Mieke spread her generosity to those in need and continued her contributions to St. Jude's Children's Hospital until her death. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, a caring mother, a wonderful grandmother, and a beautiful child of God. She was preceded in death by her husband Sherman Malcomb and her daughter Anneke Buhrman.

Mrs. Malcomb is survived by her three daughters, Jacoba Dodd (Bill), Carla Eifling (Kenny), and Rita Nickles (David); and a very special niece, Sharon Lynch; 13 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren, and many other family members and friends here in the United States and in the Netherlands.

The Malcomb family requests in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org or 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 11, 2024 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Cabot.
