James Elmore Farrow, 89, of Jacksonville, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2023. He was born March 4, 1934 in Fleming County, Kentucky to the late James Thomas and Lilly Agnes Johnson Farrow. In 1952, at the age of eighteen, James joined the United States Air Force and proudly served his country until his retirement in 1972 at the rank of Master Sergeant. He was a hard worker and had many business ventures after his retirement, some of those included being a maintenance man and manager for an apartment complex, building fences and barns, buying eighty acres in Romance and starting a beef cattle farm, as well as building a two-story cabin for family events. In his spare time, he loved playing golf and was a member of the Stone Links Golf Club. James was a member of Christian Church in Jacksonville for many years and later moved his membership to Beebe. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his loving wife, Katherine L. Farrow and siblings, Ruth Enix of Olive Hill, Kentucky, Roy Farrow of Mountain City, Tennessee, Betty Gray of Lexington, Kentucky, Ruby Biddle of Flemingsburg, Kentucky, Robert Farrow of Tampa, Florida, Nancy Caudill of Elsmere, Kentucky, Bill Farrow and Marvin Farrow of Lexington, Kentucky, Jerry Farrow of Ezel, Kentucky and Linda Farrow of Elsmere, Kentucky.
Left to cherish his memory and to miss him dearly are his children, Kathy Green (Harold) of Jacksonville, Karen Linder (Michael) of Jacksonville and Karol Binyon of Ward; five grandchildren, Christopher Armstrong of Bentonville, Amie Crow of Cabot, Michael Linder of Jacksonville, Jason Cole of Ward and Natasha Paintin of Jacksonville; eight great-grandchildren, Ava and Tyler Armstrong, Dylan and Emma Wood, Sophia Crow, Randi Roberts, Jeffery Paintin and Ian Linder; one great-great grandchild, Arizona Roberts; brother, Ronnie Farrow (Barbara) of Walton, Kentucky, as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements by Moore's Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816.
