James "Jay Bird" Willis Clark, 73, of Sherwood, passed away peacefully Monday, July 20, 2026. He was born September 19, 1952 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late RV and Mary Clark. Jay Bird lived a life of endurance, facing life’s challenges and losses with a stubborn resilience. A true bush craftsman and outdoorsman at heart, he treasured his time up in the Ozark mountains. Whether he was drawing landscapes, crafting hand-carved walking canes, hunting, fishing, or playing his harmonica, he was always in his element.

Jay Bird was also a wonderful cook who made sure no one left his kitchen hungry. When he wasn't creating or outdoors, he loved the simple thrill of a trip to the casino. In his final years, he slowed down and spent his days quietly at home with his one true love, Brenda Clark. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Cheryl Thornton and his children, Jillian Clark and Jason Clark.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Brenda Clark; his siblings, Michael Clark (Arlene Clark) and Roy Clark (Joyce Clark); his grandchildren, Megan Grimsley (Jordan Grimsley) and Jillian Osborne (Trina Osborne); his great-grandchildren, Ashlynn Tatro and Lucas Tatro, along with his extended family. May he find lasting peace and rest.

Funeral services will be 3:30 p.m., Saturday, July 25, 2026 at Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home with Toby Gilmore officiating. Interment will follow at 16th Section Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. Arrangements by Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816.
