James P. Meachum,, MSgt USAF (Ret), 88, of Cabot, passed away Monday, June 19, 2023.  He was born March 30, 1935 in Russell, Arkansas to the late C. H. and Ida May Lastar Meachum.  Jim proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1953 through 1979.  After his military retirement, he worked twenty-two years for Falcon Jet in Little Rock.  He enjoyed all things outdoors – his plants, mowing and golf. It can be said he never met a stranger and always had a huge friendly smile for anyone he met. In addition to his parents and all six of his siblings, Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Glenda Joan "Jo" Meachum.

Left to cherish his memory and to miss him dearly are his children, Patricia Dillon (Larry), Deborah Baker (Randall), Charles Bennett Meachum (Robin) and James Ray Meachum (Karen); eight grandchildren, Tony, Austin, Tyler, James, Joseph, Jaclyn, Rebecca and Jessica; eight great-grandchildren; his sweet fur baby, Sophie, and extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, June 23, 2023 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home.  Graveside service will be 2:30 p.m., Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Sumner Cemetery in Cabot.  If you would like to make a donation in memory of James P.
