James (Jim) F. Zimmerman, 92, of Cabot, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, March 11, 2023. James was born December 16, 1930 in Fairfield, Illinois to Charles G. and Nellie Lee (Stanley) Zimmerman. James graduated from Fairfield High School and enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was of service in both the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. He served his country at home and overseas for 23 years, retiring as Senior Master Sergeant. James' second career was with Remington Arms Dupont, where he was employed as a supervisor for 15 years before retiring. James enjoyed being on the water and fishing for bass. He was also an avid golfer, playing for 25 years, many of which were on the Arkansas Senior Tour.

James was preceded in death by his infant son, Danny Zimmerman; sister, Betty Fenton and parents, Charles G. and Nellie Lee Zimmerman. He is survived by his wife, Gwen; his sons, Michael of Florida, Dale of North Little Rock and Christopher of Beebe; his grandson, Zachary of Fort Campbell, Kentucky; two granddaughters, Pam of Colorado and Sally of Beebe; his great granddaughter, Henley of Colorado and his step-siblings, Patsy Herring of Alabama and Larry Zimmerman of Illinois.

A committal service with full military honors will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery. Arrangements are by Moore's Cabot Funeral Home (501) 843-5816.
