Jared Wayne Thompson, 63, of Cabot passed away Thursday, November 25, 2021. He was born March 22, 1958 in Batesville to Jane Jackson Thompson and the late Olan Thompson. Mr. Thompson graduated from Ritenour High School in St. Louis and from UCA with his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He was a member of North Hills Baptist Church in Sherwood. Mr. Thompson worked for the Arkansas Department of Health as a Radiological Health Physicist and retired after 33 years' service. He was a Past Chairman of the Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors and in 2019 was named the CRCPD Man of The Year. Jared was a referee in the Arkansas Officials Association for 25 years. Even with his lengthy career and many accomplishments, Jared's grandchildren were his greatest joy.

Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife, Judith Zimmerman; children, Zachary (Nicole) of Bossier City, Louisiana, Marshall of Tokyo, Japan and Charles (Mary) of Bentonville; grandchildren, Matthew, Kerri, Charles and a granddaughter due in the spring who he so looked forward to meeting; sister, Donna Plemmons (Lynn) of Conway; nephews, Eric and Ryan Plemmons; uncle and aunts, Jim and Maxine Thompson and Inice Stephenson and a host of cousins and other family and friends.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 29, 2021 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home (501)843-5816. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at North Hills Baptist Church in Sherwood with Brother James Ward officiating. Burial will be 2:30 Tuesday at Center Grove Cemetery near Charlotte.
