Jarrell Wayne "Mac" McConnell, lovingly known as Paw Paw to his grandchildren, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at the age of 84. He was born December 16, 1940 in Little Rock, to the late Carl Oden and Tamara Ernestine Chilton McConnell. Mac lived a life defined by kindness, integrity, and quiet strength.

A veteran of the United States Air Force, Mac went on to build a long and respected career as an electrical contractor. After decades of dedicated work, he retired to Florida in 2005, where he enjoyed a well-earned life of relaxation, family, and simple joys. In his younger years, Mac's love of activity and competition shone through. He played high school football, tore up the rink as a speed roller-skater, and even took to the track as a hobbyist stock car racer. Throughout his life, he remained someone people naturally gravitated toward—friendly, genuine, and universally liked.

In addition to his parents, Mac was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Diane, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage before her passing in September 2022. Their life together was a testament to devotion and partnership.  Mac is survived by his daughter, Dawn Trent; his sons, Scott and Glenn McConnell; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy. To them, and to so many others, he was a steady presence—warm, reassuring, and always ready with a helping hand. Those who knew Mac will remember him as a devoted husband, a patient and caring father, and a man whose kindness left a lasting imprint on everyone he met.
