Jimmie DeWitt "JD" Wooley, 87, of Cabot, passed away Friday, October 1, 2021.  JD was born September 23, 1934 in Vilonia to the late Elmer and Ella Johnson Wooley.  He spent his life building a business out of one of his greatest passions. After working in the saw-mill trade, he moved his family back to Arkansas in 1972 to pursue his dream, and Cabot Automotive was born. JD retired at 83, he was known statewide as one of the best high performance motor builders in the industry.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-one years, Hazel Wooley; step-mother, Opal Wooley; son, Ricky Lee Wooley;  great-grandchild, Addison Hope Glover and siblings, Bessie, Tressie, Elvada and Lloyd.

JD is survived by his brother, Floyd Wooley (Carol) of St. James, Missouri;  children, Randy Wooley (Robin) of Sandy, Oregon, Tim Wooley of Romance and Teresa Coleman (Robert) of Cabot; grandchildren, Stephanie Powers (Roger) of Searcy, Cari Swoboda (Kyle) of Portland, Oregon, Jennifer Phillips of Romance, Hope Glover (Andrew) of Ward, Paige Johnson (Austin) of Cabot, Barry Wooley of Romance, Kevin Wooley of Austin, Texas and Julia Wooley of Ward; great- grandchildren, Dixie, Selah, Zoe, Levi, Gavin, Anabelle, Hallie, Sophie, Maddox, Calli , Cache, Reagan and Hazel, as well as many extended family members and friends.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 1, 2021 at Thrive Church in Searcy with interment following at Mountain Springs Cemetery in Cabot.  Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. prior to the service.  Arrangements by Moore's Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816.
