Jimmy Paul Varnell, 68, of Jacksonville, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2026. He was born August 19, 1957 in Salinas, California to the late Charles Varnell and Lequetta Rice Redding. Jimmy worked almost twenty years for Johnson Products. One of his favorite jobs was working for a donut shop. He had several hobbies which included mowing, watching old westerns, gardening, being outside and drinking his coffee. Jimmy will be remembered for many things, but people will certainly remember how fun and goofy he was. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Debbie Jean Varnell (née Sharp) and his brother, Jeff Varnell.

Survivors include his children, Wendi Sharp (Stephanie), Heather Hambrick (Robert), Rachel Varnell and Jessica Varnell; three grandchildren, Emma Sharp, Lane Hambrick and Paisley Hambrick; siblings, Judy Floren, Michael Varnell, Lisa Redding-Henry, Krissa Brister and Scott Redding; his fur babies, Jackie and Boxer, as well as numerous extended family members and friends.

Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 15, 2026 at the family’s church home ~ 365 Church, 5920 MacArthur Dr., North Little Rock with Pastor Adam Pate officiating. Arrangements by Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816.
