Jimmy Ray West, 77, of Austin, passed away Friday, December 3, 2021. He was born October 29, 1944 in Dyess to the late Stanley Vernon and Avinell McDoniel West. Mr. West was a member of Apple Hill Baptist Church and a Mason. He worked for Phelps Fan Company for over 30 years manufacturing industrial fans. Mr. West was known to be a prankster and loved to make people laugh. He loved to fish and hunt, but most importantly he loved God and his family. In addition to his parents, Mr. West was preceded in death by his children, Rosetta West and Randy Joe West; siblings, Don West, Glenn Selvidge, Rick West (Pat) and Sara Covington; step-mother, Jessie West and daughter-in-law, Cathy West.

Mr. West is survived by his wife, Deborah Rice West; children, Jimmy "Skipper" West, Jr., Ronald West, William West (Becky), Rhonda Reaves (Tommy), Thea Seaton and Lindsay Goetz (Matthew); grandchildren, Stephanie Ramsey, Heather Chasteen, Christopher West, Sarah West, Vanessa Robertson, Brandon West, Megan Collins, Kalvin West, Kyle West, Autumn West, Rosetta West, Jimmy Reaves, Ashlee Reaves, Alan Ellison, Lucas Seaton, Allicen Morris, Rebekah Goetz and Mattison Goetz; 24 great-grandchildren; siblings, Carolyn Armstrong (Ronnie), Melba Love, Steve West (Jeannie), Sheila Utange, Sandy Galczynski (Stanley), Bobby West (Linda), Kathy Vanhoorne, Jeff West (Linda), Kevin West (Destie) and Lisa Galczynski (Tom) and David West (Patty) and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home (501) 843-5816. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 10, 2021 at Apple Hill Baptist Church.
