Joan Blakey Wilson, 82, of Cabot, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, November 20, 2020.  She was born April 21, 1938 in San Diego, California to the late Edward Albert and Aline Erwin Blakey. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. She was a retired Ophthalmic Technician. Her father was in the United States Navy and stationed at Pearl Harbor when it was bombed in 1941.  She frequently talked about her memories of being pulled into the hallway by her mother and they were covered with a bed mattress by her father before he returned to his ship in the harbor where he was a radio man.  She was known for her quiet/direct way and her never ending smile.  Joan loved shopping, buying and collecting things.  After retirement, she lived life to the fullest doing the things she loved and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Farrell Wilson (Glenda) of Bryant; grandson, Joshua Wilson (Lanie) and great-granddaughter, Charli Kate of Magnet Cove; sister, Patricia (Larry) High of Cabot and brother, Donald Blakey of North Little Rock.

Her memorial service will be held online, via Facebook, beginning Thursday December 3, 2020 at 6:30 p.m., accessible via the link available above.
