Obituary

J oe Edward Glover, Sr., 83, of Lonoke, passed from this life surrounded by family and friends at his home on Friday, February 20, 2026. He was born on Tuesday, April 28, 1942, the only child of the late Joe Booker Glover and Frances Jaunita Weathers Glover.

Joe was a man of deep and abiding faith, a devoted husband, a steady father, and a proud grandfather and great-grandfather. A true man of God, he lived his life guided by quiet strength, integrity, and compassion. He was an unsung hero to many — never seeking recognition, yet always present when someone needed a helping hand, wise counsel, or steady reassurance. Joe led by example and loved unconditionally, leaving a legacy of faith, humility, and unwavering dedication to his family.

He shared 63 beautiful years of marriage with the love of his life, Margaret Weber Glover. Their marriage was a testament to commitment, partnership, and enduring love, serving as an example to all who knew them.

Joe's greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; four children, Tammy Sue Payne and husband Dan, Anita Robin Abudiab and husband Daoud, Joe Glover, Jr. and wife Maria, and Kristi Dawn Glover; twelve grandchildren, Stephanie Bradley, Jessica Shiflett, Heather Andrieux, Heath Payne, Hayat Abudiab, Leith Abudiab, Saif Abudiab, Preston Shackleford, Gavin Shackleford, Joseph Glover, Madison Glover, and Camila Glover; and five great-grandchildren, London, Berkley, Hudson, Piper, and Charlie. Each of them carries forward his values, his stories, and the steady love he so freely gave.

Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice in the assurance of his eternal home and the promise that his legacy lives on in the lives he shaped. His presence will be deeply missed, but his example will continue to guide his family for generations to come.

Funeral services for Joe will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Mt. Zion Community Church, with visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m.
