Obituary

John Charles Adams, 77, of Austin, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2022.  He was born December 12, 1944 in Little Rock to the late D. Elton and Amanda L. Brown Adams.  John was a certified religious assistant and served in many ministry capacities through the years as a Sunday School teacher and Awana leader and was currently involved as an online missionary with Global Media Outreach. He was a volunteer with the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief Program and Gideon's International.  His greatest ministry was his family and he diligently lived his faith for them.  John was truly a man of love.  He proudly served his country in the United States Naval Reserves, from which he retired, and he was also a Vietnam Era veteran.

John's greatest desire was to please everyone.  He was loving and loyal and never spoke an ill word about anyone.  John spent forty-one years as a Certified Public Accountant with the State of Arkansas and also served in the capacities of Secretary and President of the Arkansas Employees Federal Credit Union.  In spite of his long battle with colon cancer, he was still a minister and witness for Christ.  In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brothers, David E. Adams, Jr. and D. Glenn Adams.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Susan E. Few Adams of Austin; children, Sarah E. Jeter (Phillip) of Cabot and H. Morgan Colvert (Kelley) of Lonoke; eight grandchildren, Sadie Williams, Morgan D. Colvert, Tyler Jeter, Haiden Chisnall (Colin), Tristan Williams, Dinah Williams, Cutter Colvert and Vivi Ann Colvert; three great-grandchildren, Emaleigh Davis, Joel Reid Davis and Benjamin Adam Daniels; brother, Dwight M. Adams of Alexander, as well as many extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at Mount Carmel Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at 10:00 a.m.  Interment will be 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.  Arrangements by Moore's Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816.
