John "Jack" Howard Bauer, 83, of Cabot, passed away Sunday, December 31, 2023 at his home.  He was born October 12, 1940 in Allentown, Pennsylvania to the late John Fredrick and Edith Grace Boyer Bauer.  Jack proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as a missile launch officer and an instructor at the Air Force Academy.  He retired with the rank of Major after twenty years of service.  Jack was a Christian and a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Cabot.  He was also an avid hunter and outdoorsman. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his brothers, Stuart Robert Bauer and James A. Bauer.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of fifty-nine years, Kay Bauer; niece, Linda LaLuna; nephews, Scott Bauer and Jim Bauer, as well as many extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 5, 2024 at First Baptist Church in Cabot.  Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Brother Greg Hooper officiating.  Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Austin.  Arrangements by Moore's Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816.
