Johnny "J.D." Doyne Fowlkes, 82, of Austin, passed away Friday, December 22, 2023. He was born July 30, 1941 in Austin, Lonoke County, Arkansas to the late Doyne and Ila Nolen Fowlkes. J.D. graduated from Cabot High School and attended Arkansas Teachers College (UCA) at Conway. He served six years in the Arkansas National Guard and was a general contractor in Cabot and Benton.  In addition to his parents, J.D. was preceded in death by his two sisters, Zoe Ellen Fowlkes and Wanda Sue Fowlkes Smith.

Johnny is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Patti Fowlkes; one son, Jeff (Amanda) of Fayetteville; brother-in-law, Bob (Susie) Lee of Indio, California and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 28, 2023 at First United Methodist Church in Benton with a celebration of life service beginning at 11:00 a.m.  Friends and family are invited to the Fowlkes residence in Austin from 2:30-5:30 p.m. the same day.
