Kerin
Reed
Oct 12, 1936 — Sep 4, 2026
Cabot, AR
Kerin L. Reed, 89, of Cabot, beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and devoted family supporter, passed away Friday, September 4, 2026, surrounded by her sons. She was born October 12, 1936 in DeWitt, Arkansas, to the late George Henry and Nona Kittler and grew up in Lonoke, Arkansas. She married her high school sweetheart, Bill Reed, beginning a lifelong partnership filled with faith, family, football, and countless memories.
Throughout Bill’s coaching career, Kerin and her family lived in Marked Tree, Wilson, Jonesboro, Jacksonville, and Texarkana, Arkansas, as well as Bartlett, Tennessee. Following Coach Reed’s death, Kerin made her home in Texarkana and Cabot, Arkansas.
She was an educator who graduated from Lonoke High School and Arkansas State Teachers College (now the University of Central Arkansas), where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in teaching mathematics. She later earned a master’s degree in counseling from Arkansas State University, serving students at the high school, district, and college levels. Her commitment to helping others reflected the compassion and encouragement she carried throughout her life.
Kerin enjoyed gardening, family pets, and spending time with her family. She championed each member in all of their endeavors. Whether sitting in the stands at ball games, attending band events and choral performances, or simply cheering her family on from home, Kerin was always so supportive. Her family will forever cherish the memories of her presence, her pride in their accomplishments, and the unconditional love she gave so freely.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, and her sister, Kara Lee Jackson. Kerin is survived by her sons, Scott Reed (Connie) of Cabot and Mark Reed (Wendy) of Texarkana; her grandchildren, Taylor Reed (Shayne), Dustin Reed, Lucas Reed (Alicia), William Reed, AJ Reed, and Gabby Rudnick (Christian); her great-grandsons, Bo and Tommy Reed and John Rudnick; her brother, Henry Kitler; and many much-loved nieces and nephews.
Her greatest legacy is the family she loved so completely. They will miss her deeply, but will carry her love, encouragement, and unwavering support with them always.
