Larry Ray Ashley, 55, of Ward, passed away Monday, April 6, 2020. He was born March 5, 1965 in Peoria, Illinois to Cecil Ray and Mary Loraine Fike Ashley and was a 1983 graduate of Dee-Mack High School in Mackinaw, Illinois. Larry served his country in the United States Marine Corp for four years and later served his community as a jailer, bailiff and a detention dispatch officer for the Sherwood Police Department for 17 years. Larry loved to be outside working in his yard or garden, playing golf, hunting or fishing. He also enjoyed model cars and knife collecting. Larry was a true Alabama Crimson Tide fan.  He was preceded in death by a sister, Tracy Ashley and his grandparents. He was a good man and will be deeply missed.

Mr. Ashley is survived by his wife, Cindy Carol Vredeveld Ashley; his children, Joshua David Ashley, Megen Grace Ashley and Lydia Nichole Ashley, all of Ward; his parents, Cecil and Loraine Ashley of Alabama; one sister, Terri Sternhagen of Texas and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the Ashley family requests donations be made to the Larry Ashley Memorial Fund at any Centennial Bank branch.
