Laura Charlene Green, 70, of Cabot and Watson Chapel, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2024.  She was born November 7, 1953 in Delhi, Louisiana to the late Charlie Milbern Blackwood, Sr. and Selma Aline Walters Blackwood.  In addition to her parents, Laura was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Tony Croft.

Growing up, Laura developed a profound passion for country music, particularly admiring the legendary Loretta Lynn. While a longtime member of Loretta's fan club, she served as Arkansas State Representative when she was a teenager.

She often recounted her senior year of high school spent in Pioneer, Louisiana, where she cherished the precious memories created while staying with her grandparents and travelled back as often as she could.

Laura retired from the Arkansas Department of Corrections and during her retirement, enjoyed traveling when she was able and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Laura loved Jesus with all her heart. She taught her children and grandchildren the importance of knowing Jesus as well.

Left to cherish her memory and to miss her dearly are her children, Ashley Croft of White Hall, Tara Shirley (Dustin) of Austin, and Lindsey King of Franklin, Tennessee. She was a proud Lolly and Meme to five grandchildren, Adam Croft, Kristen, Shane, Sharla and Abel Shirley, as well as many close friends that will undoubtedly feel her absence deeply, as they cherish the memories and moments they shared with her."

Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 13, 2024 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home.  Graveside service will be 12:00 p.m., Friday, June 14, 2024 at New Forest Cemetery in Pioneer, Louisiana.  Arrangements by Moore's Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816.
