Linwood Williamson, 90, of Cabot, died Thursday, February 18, 2021. He was born September 21, 1930 in Jones, Louisiana to the late Mack E. and Ada Parker Williamson. Mr. Williamson served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years. Following retirement, he worked another 28 years for Dillard's. Mr. Williamson enjoyed hunting and raising vegetables in his garden to give away to friends and neighbors. He loved road trips. One epic trip took him to Alaska where he visited the Air Force base he had served on as a young man and included traveling the entire length of the AlCan Highway. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Bernie J. Williamson; his sisters, Madeline W. Jacks and Daisy M. Baber and one grandson.
Survivors include his children, Tommy Williamson of Jacksonville and Linda Dziga of San Antonio, Texas; three grandchildren and niece and nephew, Anita Heide and Paul Baber.
Mr. Williamson's family would like to thank the VA nurses who cared for Linwood for the past eight years.
Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 8, 2021 with funeral services beginning at 11:00 in the chapel of Moore's Cabot Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock. Arrangements by Moore's Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816.
