Obituary

Lovie Darlene Boyett, 78, of Cabot passed away Thursday, November 28, 2024. She was born April 11, 1946, in Springhill, Louisiana to the late R.T. Bolton and Marjorie (Margie) Basinger Burks. Mrs. Boyett was a member of McArthur Church in Jacksonville. She was highly active in the pageant arena; she was instrumental in founding of the Miss Louisiana Teen and she truly enjoyed working behind the scenes at Miss Arkansas Teen and Miss Arkansas sharing her ministry with the contestants and others. She prayed with anyone she felt needed a prayer. The young ladies and others sought her out to pray with them. Mrs. Boyett was incredibly supportive of her children's sporting activities. She organized and was coach of a cheerleading squad for her son's Peewee Football team and her youngest child was an honorary cheerleader. Mrs. Boyett volunteered her time and skills to anyone who needed an extra hand. Mrs. Boyett was very generous to the children or anyone who could use a smile, a hug, a kind word, and/or a prayer. She loved to shower others with blessings especially the children she came to know and love. Rarely did a child leave her home without a bag full of toys. No one left her home without a full belly.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Boyett was preceded in death by her husband, Pat Boyett; a daughter, Vicky Michelle Boyett; and stepfather, Elmer Burks. She is survived by her children, Melissa Rae Boyett Smith (Dennis) of Cabot, Norman Lacy Boyett (Melissa England) of Lonoke, and Marjorie Lucinda (Cindy) Boyett Wells (Chad) of Cabot; grandchildren, Lauren Paige Boyett Leech (Tucker), Laci Michelle Boyett Tarrant (Tyler), Kiley Rae Smith (Andrew Lewis), KeLeigh Shaye Shands Heriman (Robby), Lake Phillip Boyett, and Julia Eleese Shands Street (Jacob); great grandchildren, Waylon James Leech, Bayler Kate Tarrant, Walker Phillip Leech, Wynnie Paige Leech, Braidy Tarrant, and Camryn Grace Boyett; and brothers, Talmadge Bolton (Joani) of North Carolina and Ronnie Bolton of Cabot.
