Madelyne Dale Dietz, 75, of Cabot AR, passed away Sunday, August 1, 2021. She was born November 20, 1945 in Bloomington, Illinois to John "Dale" and Ruth B. Followell Starr. Madelyne was a member of St. Jude's the Apostle Catholic Church in Jacksonville, Arkansas. She was first and foremost a homemaker, mother, and grandmother. She spent her career as a computer programmer working for Caterpillar, Rupmans, and Mitsubishi. Madelyne was preceded in death by her father, John "Dale" Starr.
Survivors include her husband of fifty-six years, Ronald Edward Dietz; daughter, Annette (Patrick) Despain of Bradford, Illinois; sons, Patrick (Shelley) Dietz of Searcy, Arkansas, Wesley (Elizabeth) Dietz of Ocean City, Maryland, Christopher Dietz of Denver, Colorado and Charles (Laura) Dietz of Bloomington, Illinois; thirteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; mother, Ruth Starr and brother, Robert (Norma) Starr, both of LeRoy, Illinois and many family members, friends and loved ones.
Madelyne, "Maddie" to most, "Punkin" to some, was a fun-loving wife, mom, sister, daughter and friend. She had a zest for life and she loved to share it. She farmed with her husband in Bradford, Illinois for 30 years while raising 5 children. She was kind, giving, thoughtful and strong. Maddie touched many lives with her spirit and her beautiful smile. She loved playing board games and cards, and passed this love on to her children and grandchildren. She fought many battles and never complained.
Memorial mass will be 10:00 .am., Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at St. Jude's the Apostle Catholic Church. There will be a visitation Tuesday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary service beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home (501) 843-5816.
Donations can be made to St. Jude's the Apostle Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society. Memorial Services will be at a later date in Bradford and LeRoy Illinois.
