Obituary

Major Daniel Bogue Webb, USAF (Ret), 76, of Cabot, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2024.  He was born December 6, 1947 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to the late William Orland and Shirley Smith Webb.  Daniel was drafted into the Army and deployed to Vietnam.  In 1968, he was awarded the Purple Heart.  After his Army tour of duty, he finished college in Mobile, Alabama.  In 1972, Daniel accepted an officer's commission in the United States Air Force, went through navigator school and became a navigator on C130's.  He served in the Persian Gulf region during Desert Storm. Following this career path, he eventually became a navigator instructor.  His experiences and knowledge would take him all over the world, including Europe and Asia, and eventually back to Little Rock Air Force Base where he retired in 1992.  Daniel was on the last C130 to fly out of Tehran, Iran.

After his military career, he went into real estate with his wife for a couple of years.  Daniel also worked for American Airlines as a flight instructor.  He spent fifteen years with the airlines and retired in 1996. Daniel was passionate about his work and teaching others, which was evident not only by his extensive career, but also by the Master's Degree in Education he earned in his younger years.  Daniel was kind-hearted, generous, never met a stranger and always had a story to tell.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him and by all who had the privilege of receiving his wisdom and instruction from his years as a flight and navigation instructor.  In addition to his parents, Daniel was preceded in death by his brother, David Webb and sister-in-law, Betsy Webb.

Daniel is survived by his wife, Irene Webb; brother, William Orland Webb, II; sister-in-law, Ellen Webb; niece, Jennifer Roe and nephews, William Orland Webb, III and James Webb.
