Obituary

Margaret Kyzer Cook Richmond, 86, formerly of Cabot, passed away Saturday, October 16, 2021.  While we grieve her loss and are saddened by her unexpected passing, we know that she is at peace. Margaret is now reunited with her late husband, Loyal Audrey Cook, and will be laid to rest by his side at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Cabot.

Margaret was born at home in North Little Rock, Arkansas on October 9, 1935.  She was the eldest of three children of Ed and Katie Kyzer. Margaret was always a hard worker. Her first career at Timex was where she met her first husband, Loyal Audrey Cook, through a carpool arrangement. After that, she was manager of the Cabot School cafeteria. Then her husband, Audrey, joined her in a career at Remington Arms. At Remington, Audrey was a tool and die maker, and Margaret was a quality inspector, where she routinely worked long shifts. Her second husband was Harold Richmond.

Margaret, Audrey, and their daughter, Melinda, spent many weekends camping, water skiing, and fishing on the White River, Greers Ferry Lake, and many other beautiful Arkansas lakes.  She enjoyed quilting and sewing throughout her life.  After Margaret's retirement from Remington Arms, she traveled extensively to many worldwide destinations, such as New York City, Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls, Mexico, Russia and other countries along the Baltic Sea. When not traveling to further destinations, she immensely enjoyed visiting Branson, Missouri to experience some of the best country and gospel music in the world.  In addition to her husbands, Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, James E and Katie Lou (Ausbrooks) Kyzer; sister, Flossie Tate and brother, Russel Kyzer.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Melinda Cook Walls, son-in-law, Todd A. Walls, and sister-in-law, Sandra Cook Masterson, as well as many extended family members and friends.
