Martha Jane Hill, 85, of Ward, passed away Monday, March 16, 2026. She was born May 21, 1940 in Ward to the late John and Florence Wood Staley. Martha worked at Timex for many years and then for the Ward Police Department. Martha was a fiercely independent woman with a strong love for her family, friends and a good crossword puzzle. In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Hill, Jr.; children, Mary Lahona Hill and Larry Hill; siblings, Alpheus Staley, Lillian Brothers, Johnny Staley, Royce Staley, Elsie Caton, Aldean Middleton, Gene Staley, Lloyd Staley, Doyle Staley, Juanita Smith and Mary Scott.

Martha is survived by her son, William Eugene Hill, his wife Eileen Frances Hill; two grandchildren, William Eugene Hill, II, his wife Amber Marie Hill and Brandy Rose Hill; two great-grandchildren, Zoey Marie Hill and William Charles Hill, as well as numerous extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park in Jacksonville. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, March 27, 2026 at the funeral home. Arrangements by Moore's Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816.
